Adobe Animal Hospital opened it's doors in 1964 with one vet. We slowly grew to being a much larger hospital. We remodeled many times and now have completely grown out of our present facility. We are planning to build a new facility (a short drive from our present location) and are working very hard on the plans right now. In the mid 90s, the dream of being a twenty-four hour hospital came true. We have a veterinarian on duty all the time. (twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.) Visiting your pet in ICU is possible between 9:30am - 10:00pm. There may be times that ICU is so hectic that you may not be able to stay. Regular scheduled appointments are between 7:00am - 10:00pm Monday through Friday and 7:00am - 7:00pm on weekends. Urgent care and emergencies are 24/7. These walk-in cases are seen on a first come, first-served basis, unless your pet is unstable and needs immediate care. In those cases a technician will check your pet, and will call for a doctor to see you immediately. If you have an exotic pet (something other than a cat or dog), please call before coming to make sure that there is a veterinarian available that knows how to care for your pet. Technician appointments Technicians are available 8:00am - 7:00pm for nail trims, blood draws, and medication assistance. Pharmacy Our pharmacy is open from 8:00am - 8:00pm Monday through Friday and 8:00am - 5:00pm on weekends. Surgery Our surgery department has elective surgeries scheduled from 8:00am - 6:00pm Monday through Friday and emergency surgeries are performed as needed, around the clock. When scheduling surgeries, please call our surgery scheduling line (650-209-9305) and leave a message. The surgery staff will call you back and discuss when to drop off, prices, and any other details about the surgery. Often they need to call when you may not be available, so be sure to leave a number where there is an answering machine. Primary care doctor We encourage you to form a relationship with a "primary care doctor," someone who works when you most often will be coming to Adobe and someone who can get to know you and your pet and take care of routine and on-going problems. Of course, none of our doctors can work all of the time, so urgent problems can be effectively handled by other members of our staff when your primary doctor is not available. Since our records are computerized, all of your pet's history will be available to any doctor caring for your pet. ICU Our ICU is staffed with technicians twenty-four hours a day and a veterinarian is always on the premises. Your hospitalized pet will receive around-the-clock care and attention and the veterinarian is always consulted if any changes in your pet's condition occurs. Yes, you may stay with your pet during any part of it's stay with us. You may watch treatment, blood draws, x-rays, and dentistry. Management Team Dave Roos has sold his interest in Adobe Animal Hospital to four of the long time vets. Five years ago, when Dave Roos bought out Jerry Berg, a management team was formed to make the decisions about how Adobe operated. Jane Johnson, Jennifer Koga, Nancy O'Day, Brian Maxwell and Dave Roos were the vets on the team. After a year of working together, they all made an agreement that Dave would be bought out by the other four. That buy out is complete with Jane, Jennifer, Nancy, and Brian each owning 25% of Adobe Animal Hospital. Dave is not interested in retiring and is still helping with the management. Practice Managers We have two very dedicated individuals managing the day to day administration of the Hospital. They are Summer Holmstand-Irmiter and John Else.
