I grew up in New York City. After graduating from veterinary school in 2002, I returned to New York for an incredibly intense year as an intern in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center. After completing the internship, I spent two years working in an Emergency practice near Boston. I moved to California in 2005 and worked in a variety of day practices and for the San Jose shelter before finding Adobe when my own cat needed urgent medical attention.
I was hired at Adobe in 2008 as a relief veterinarian to help with the increasing numbers of urgent care cases and came on full time in 2010. Ten years ago, the caseload at Adobe was just starting to get busy enough that the staff veterinarians were having trouble fitting in urgent cases around their scheduled appointments. Since 2008, Adobe has grown from a 10-15 doctor practice crammed into a converted house to a 25-30 doctor modern hospital with a satellite day practice in Los Gatos. We now have 2 urgent care doctors scheduled throughout the day to accommodate the more than 1000 urgent care cases we see every month during our busiest season.
Half my time is now spent on administrative duties but I am thrilled to still have the opportunity to take care of my patients and see emergencies. When not on duty, I like to read, travel and explore local trails.
